Overcoming The Online Money Making Distractions

Before you get into the methods of setting up your website and get things going online, there are some things that you need to try to avoid when you start in your money making online journey. I am talking about all the distractions out there. Let me share a story about this first. About five years ago, I began pretty much right at the beginning. Not really knowing a lot about generating an income on the internet. Luckily, my background is in computer programming so I had a bit of a leg up there. I knew how to create a website and knew a bit about graphic design as well - enough to get me by anyway. So when I first started, I began by reading various money making methods online and worked on implementating these methods. The trouble was that I was bombarded by so many different methods on how to make money, that I kept getting sidetracked and wanting to try them all. I never really gave each method a good chance because I would not spend enough time doing the work properly. It was only

Blogger (Blogspot) added Create New Pages Feature

Image
If you are running a blog on Wordpress, you must know how to create pages on your blog like About Me, Contact Me, Advertise, Services etc kind of pages on our wordpress hosted as well as self hosted wordpress blogs. But can we create such kind of pages if we have a blog on Blogger.com (Blogspot)? It was nearly impossible to create a page on Blogger blog before. If we need to create a page on blogger, we use to create a post and use that as a page. But now we can create pages on a blogger blog like we are able to create pages on a Wordpress based blog. With this feature, we can create up to 10 pages on any of our blogger blog. Here is how to manual about creating pages on Blogger blog: Login into your Blogger.com account and go to Blogger in Draft Move to Layout –> Posting –> Edit Pages Click on ‘New Page’ button or ‘Create a page’ link to start creating your first page on blogger. Once you have finished and saved your first page, its time to show it on your blogger blog. You

Caprica Premieres to 1.6 Million Viewers on Syfy

Image
Friday night’s two hour premiere of Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica averaged 1.6 million viewers. But between a DVD release almost a year ago now and the premiere being available online via Hulu and Syfy.com for weeks ahead of the premiere there’s not much to be made from Friday’s numbers. Plus its first hour it was up against the Hope for Haiti Now Telethon on practically every other channel! The real test comes with the next episodes. Stay tuned…

“Spartacus: Blood and Sand” premiere draws 659,000 (or 535,000?) on Starz

Disclaimer: The show has already been renewed for a second season, so no hand wringing over the ratings is necessary! Update: (hat tip to James Hibberd) Starz actually reports **lower** numbers, 535K on Starz and another 460,000 on Encore. I’m not sure what’s up with the discrepancy in numbers; maybe Starz numbers are Live only rather than Live+SD, or it’s something to do with it being longer than an hour. But who are we to argue with a network insisting the numbers were LOWER? As Hibberd also notes, with the two networks combined, even with the lower numbers it’s a record for an original scripted premiere on Starz. Also as noted in the comments, Spartacus: Blood and Sand had some early online (free) distribution of the premiere, so people had a chance to see it before it aired. Next week’s numbers will be more telling. I don’t really have enough historical data for shows on Starz to handicap the premiere of Spartacus: Blood and Sand on Starz that averaged .659 million viewers

How-to choose a WordPress Hosting Provider

Image
If you’re using the popular blog tool WordPress , you’re probably looking for th best possible Wordpress hosting provider. Choosing a host might be hard becaise the are a lot of them. I advise you to take your time and make sure you’re choosing the best option. WordPress doesn’t require a lot of “special” server features, one reason more why most hosting provider will offer to host your blog. You don’t need one at the top-of-the-line and don’t go for the cheapest plan you can find. For the beginning blog a shared hosting plan should be enough, be sure an account upgrade is possible at any time. This is because you never know how fast your site is going to grow or how big it is going to get, and it’s always better to be well prepared. Check also the possibilities to move your account from a shared hosting plan to a VPS or dedicated server. You also want to avoid the smaller, lesser-known hosts. Go for the companies where a lot of people talk about, don’t host by some new company from a
