Social networking overall surges, but Google+ could be slumping

Image
Over half of all online adults in the US now use at least one form of social network, new research suggests, the first time all age segments have crossed the fifty-percent milestone. 65-percent of users have a Facebook or LinkedIn account, or one with another social networking site, the Pew Research Center claims, with young women (18-29) described as “power users” with 89-percent surveyed using the sites, and 69-percent doing so daily. However, the statistics come as one of the poster children for fast-growing social networking, Google+, seemingly experiences a slump in user interest. That slump, DreamGrow Social Media suggests, has seen Google+ go from 2.89-percent of all visits to Google at the start of August, to 1.84-percent today. Total traffic looks to have dropped by more than a quarter in the most recent two week period. It’s worth noting that Pew’s figures are based on a 2,277 person sample, while DreamGrow’s analysis usesAlexa traffic stats. The latter relies on internet sur

Nokia reveals that its Developer Network forum has been hacked

Image
It has been a while now since we talked about a hack that resulted in private data being stolen Nokia has now announced that data on developers of apps for its mobile phones that use the Nokia developer network forum may have had private data on them stolen. Apparently, a hacker or hackers accessed a database that holds the email addresses of forum members. The good news is that the worst thing likely to happen here is more spam; unlike the consequences of the theft of other data by hackers this year. The developer forums have been shut down temporarily while the investigation of the breach is underway. So far no person or organization has claimed responsibility. Nokia says that the hackers exploited a flaw in the bulletin board software it was using for the forums using a SQL Injection attack. That is a common way to breach security of a website. Nokia offered no hint at the scale of the attack but the suggestion is that the list of email addresses stolen is large. Nokia said in a sta

Astronauts heading to Mars will need to grow their own eats

Image
Astronauts on the ISS eat pre-packaged food stores that are ready to eat as soon as the astronauts get hungry. NASA allots ISS astronauts 3.8 pounds of food per day. The ISS has the space to store that much food without issues. On a much longer trip in space, like the 5-year round trip mission to Mars, that seemingly small amount of food would be a huge stockpile that any ship taken to the red planet wouldn’t be able to hold. The trip to Mars would need about 7,000 pounds of food per crewmember for the trip. NASA says that the only way to get enough food for the trip would be to have the astronauts grow some of their own food stores on the ship. NASA has found ten crops that fit the bill for plants that have few inedible parts, are easy to grown, and can provide a varied menu. The ten crops NASA has found so far would be lettuce, spinach, carrots, tomatoes, green onions, radishes, bell peppers, strawberries, fresh herbs and cabbages. Another option for sending food for the mission woul

Asus Ultrabook prices to start at $799 according to reports

Image
There has been a lot of back and forth over if the computer makers that plan to offer Intel Ultrabooks would be able to hit the promised sub-$1,000 price point. Some had said that the price of the Intel hardware was so high that the makers would not be able to offer the machines for under $1,000. Asus will have at least some offerings a starting at $799 according to a report form the Financial Times. Intel turned down a request by top tier notebook firms to cut the price of the Ultrabook hardware by 50% not long ago. The FT reports that the Ultrabook will come in five to seven different mode is with prices running from $799 to $1,999. The UX21 that has been seen a few times will be on the high end of that range for sure. Intel thinks that it will grab 40% of the notebook market with Ultrabooks, but Asus’ CEO Jerry Shen is more reserved. Shen says that next year only about 20% of the notebook that Asus ships are expected to be of the ultrabook variety. Shen believes that 2013 is a more

Scientists discover underground river below the Amazon River

Image
Scientists have made a very wild discovery in the Amazon Basin. The mighty Amazon River is one of the largest and most impressive (and scariest) rivers on the planet. The Amazon ranges in width from 1km to 100km. It also flow very quickly in some areas at 133,000 meters squared of water each second at a rate of five meters per second. A team of scientists has discovered a much larger river about 4km under the Amazon River that dwarfs its surface counterpart. The underground river was discovered by using data collected inside a series of 241 abandoned deep wells left over from oil drilling in the Amazon basin in the 70′s and 80′s by a company called Petrobras. The data shows that there is an underground river flowing at a snail’s pace that is roughly as long as the 6,000km that the Amazon River spans. The big differences include that the underground river, dubbed Rio Hamza after the leader of the scientific team, flows a mere millimeter per hour and its nearly twice as wide as the Amazo

LG to unveil new E91 and D237IPS computer monitors at IFA 2011

Image
IFA 2011 will kick off in Berlin very soon and at the show LG will be unveiling a pair of new LCDs including the E91 and the D237IPS LCD screens. The E91 is very thin at 7.2mm thick taking up as little space as possible on the desk. The bezel of the screen is 4.35mm thick giving the screen a slick and almost borderless style. The display also uses hanger type stand to allow for precise adjustment for viewing angles when using the screen. The other display is the D237IPS using the LG Film Pattern Retarder 3D display tech on an IPS panel. The IPS panel tech is able to offer a clearer and brighter 3D image than other panel tech available. The screen is Flicker-Free certified by TUV and Intertek to reduce dizziness and headaches associated with the screen producing flicker. Hard specs for the E91 display include a 23-inch size, 1920 x 1080 resolution, and a contrast ratio of 10M:1. The D237IPS has a color depth of 16.7M colors, 1920 x 1080 resolution, and the same 23-inch panel size. It ha

Apple secures Tim Cook with 1m share promise

Image
Apple has moved to lock new CEO Tim Cook in service until mid-2021, it’s been revealed, with a huge stock payout worth more than $383m at today’s prices if the exec sticks around for a decade. Cook will receive 1,000,000 restricted stock units as part of his promotion, an SEC filing confirms, half of which will vest on August 24 2016, and the remainder five years later, just as long as he remains continuously employed by Apple. “In connection with Mr. Cook’s appointment as Chief Executive Officer, the Board awarded Mr. Cook 1,000,000 restricted stock units. Fifty percent of the restricted stock units are scheduled to vest on each of August 24, 2016 and August 24, 2021, subject to Mr. Cook’s continued employment with Apple through each such date” Apple SEC filing At Apple’s current share price, that 1m stock unit cache is worth over $383m, more than six times Cook’s overall compensation for 2010. The final vesting price will be based on Apple’s share price in 2016 and 2021, however, pro

Samsung webOS rumors reignite amid ex-HP PC VP grab

Image
Speculation that Samsung will purchase webOS from HP continues, with the latest whispers out of notebook manufacturers suggesting that it’s the little-loved smartphone and tablet platform that the Korean firm has its eye on, not HP’s PC business. Samsung has already snapped up the former VP of HP’s PC marketing team, DigiTimes reports, to give it a boost in its notebook sales; now, so the talk goes, it’s considering a play for webOS. HP’s PC business has relatively low margins, the sources point out, which could end up being a drag on Samsung’s high margin businesses like display panels and DRAM. webOS, meanwhile, could represent increased software strength and greater independence from Google and Microsoft. Whether HP would be amenable to a sale remains to be seen, however. Although Samsung has been seen asone of the most likely candidates to be interested in using webOS, and HP’s own VP for the platform has said the company is seeking “the best hardware partner for it,” there’s also

HTC Omega Mango smartphone hits auction site giving first real world photos of the smartphone

Image
If you can’t wait to get your hands on a Windows Phone 7 Mango smartphone here is your chance to get one early. That is assuming you live somewhere that you are able to buy from the Algerian website Quedkniss.com. Someone has listed a working HTC Omega smartphone on the site for 370 Euro. The official announcement for the smartphones isn’t expected until September 1. The hardware inside the smartphone is said to include a 1.5GHz processor and an 8MP camera. Previously we have seen leaks of the official press photo of the smartphone. Speculation pegs the smartphone to have aluminum construction and the official name may be the HTC Radar. Hardware rumors claim there will be a 3.8-inch SLCD display, a 1.5GHz Snapdragon MSM8255 single core processor, 512MB of RAM and more. There is also said to be an 8MP rear smartphone with LED flash and a front camera of unknown quality. I’d bet VGA is about as good as the front camera gets. There is no indication of how the smartphone ended up on the au

Samsung unveils ChatON service to compete with iMessage, BBM, and others

Image
Samsung has announced that it will be rolling out a new messaging service that will allow users to chat across multiple devices. ChatON will be offered in over 120 countries in 62 languages. The service supports photos, video, voice messaging, location, contact sharing, calendar, and other multimedia content. The interesting part is that Samsung is looking to take ChatON outside its own ecosystem. The service will be supported on all major platforms according to Samsung. That includes tablets, feature phones, the PC, and Bada. The service will support group chat, direct linking between specific buddies, and it will have an interaction rank. That last one ranks the users based on how often they interact with you as far as I can make out. ChatON also has a trunk service, which is a place where you can store files and content to share with others. You can communicate with friends using animated messages, which appear to be short video clips. This is obviously aimed at being a direct compe

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Australian launch further delayed under Apple assault

Image
Samsung’s concessions to the ongoing Apple legal onslaught continue, with news that the company has agreed to put Australian launch plans for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 on ice until September 30. The agreement – which comes despite Samsung’s earlier protestations that it had a separate version of the 10-inch tablet for Australia, that did not infringe any Apple technology – will see Apple detail the patents it alleges its Korean foe has overstepped by September 5, the Sydney Morning Herald reports, with Samsung responding by September 16. Until the end of the month, however, Samsung has acquiesced to neither selling nor even advertising the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the country. Reports circulated in early August that Samsung had been prevented from selling the new Honeycomb tablet in Australia by a sales injunction Apple secured. The company later attempted to correct that interpretation, saying that it had merely agreed to delay sales until September 12 while the patent case progressed. However, S

Sony Reader PRS-T1 detailed: WiFi & multitouch in sleeker chassis

Image
Sony’s incoming Reader PRS-T1 has been caught in the wild, with a pre-announcement product listing spilling the beans on the touchscreen ereader’s abilities. Spotted by MobileRead at Bol.com (but since yanked), the PRS-T1 follows much in the steps of the PRS-650, but with the addition of WiFi and multitouch support for its 6-inch E Ink Pearl display. There’s also 2GB of integrated storage, which can be augmented with a memory card; Sony has seemingly ditched the full-sized SD slot of the PRS-650 and replaced it with the increasingly common microSD. That may frustrating upgrading owners, but if you like to switch your memory cards between your phone, tablet and other devices then it’s probably a sensible shift. The major change over the PRS-650, however, is the weight. By using a plastic rather than metal chassis, Sony has shaved around 1.5 oz off and brought the PRS-T1 down to under 6oz (168g in fact). No word on exact dimensions, but there’s speculation that it’s thinner, too. The WiF

Toshiba ultraslim Thrive tablet successor leaks

Image
Details of Toshiba’s successor to the Thrive Android tablet have leaked, with the company apparently readying a far slimmer, sleeker Honeycomb slate that might be released at IFA 2011 later this week. The unnamed Toshiba tablet is, according to Notebook Italia, predominantly metal and glass, unlike the rubberized Thrive, with a 10.1-inch display and microHDMI connectivity. There’s also a microUSB port and microSD card slot, a front-facing webcam and a combo headphones/microphone socket. Internal hardware is unconfirmed, but we’re guessing Toshiba will stick with the tried and tested NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset, just as runs in the Thrive. Connectivity is likely to include WiFi and Bluetooth, with perhaps a 3G/4G option for mobile internet users. Toshiba will likely be hoping that this IFA launch gets better results than last year’s tablet debut. At the 2010 show, the company unveiled the Android 2.2 powered Folio 100, a low-cost slate that was subsequently yanked from retailers over what wa

HP TouchPad gets CyanogenMod Android first boot [Video]

Image
HP’s $100 fire sale of the TouchPad led to the webOS slate dropping into the hands of several developers, not least the CyanogenMod team, and they’ve been hard at work getting their customized version of Android running on the tablet. Already there’s a video demo (which you can see after the cut) of Android booting on the TouchPad, and the team says it’s hoping to release a multiboot ROM which will allow the users to choose between webOS, CyanogenMod and potentially other platforms too. That would mean you could keep the slick webOS interface for use with your existing TouchPad apps – or indeed the Facebook app, which is better than what you get on Android – but then flip over to Google’s platform for the greater choice of software. The video shows what the team claims is a slightly older version of their current efforts; since then they’ve apparently added in lvm support and various other tablet-tweaks. Outstanding, however, is the touchscreen driver, without which actually using the

How Target’s Mobile Ecosystem works and how it could Improve

Image
Welcome to Minnesota, Earth – Target Brand department store originating right here in my midwest place of birth, aiming for and achieving a spread across North America like a wildfire – and like any forward thinking place of business, they want to get in on the mobile business to keep their show on the road. Therefor they’ve created Target Mobile Store, or simply “mobile” by Target Brand and powered by Simplexity – this group, if you did not know, only handles online sales of cell phones and wireless service, thus you wont see “SIMPLEXITY” plastered all over the electronics department at your local physical Target location. Inside the store you’ll find an endcap with four devices, a wall full of display units, and several aisles away you’ll find two Apple displays, another aisle containing two Android tablets.

To Snark, or Not to Snark

Image
I used to be the kind of guy who would yell at customer service representatives on the phone. I would call up my bank, or my airline, and scream at the person on the other end as if it were his fault that I had accidentally paid my electric bill too early, thus insuring the account had insufficient funds for the next 4 visits to Starbucks. I don’t think I ever ended one of those conversations without threatening to never, ever do business with that company again. I’m sure Delta was quaking in their boots thinking about losing the $389 in ticket sales I generate for them once a year. But somehow, they survived. [Image credit: Scubaben] I also used to be a smoker. I smoked the most pretentious smokes of all: clove cigarettes. I can tell you the exact day I stopped. I was hanging out with some friends in lower Manhattan, near Wall street. We were on a smoke break. Well, they were on a smoke break. I had already been laid off from that company, but it’s hard to find friends for a smoke bre

Sonic the Hedgehog Coming to Android, iOS, Xbox 360, PlayStation, and MORE!

Image
It appears that the strangest of all Sonic the Hedgehog titles: Sonic CD, will be the first title to grace the gears of Android, iOS, Xbox 360, PlayStation Network, Windows PC, and Windows Phone soon. While we’re certainly excited that everyone’s favorite hedgehog will be coming to a whole mess of platforms, we’ve got to jump back at the idea that it wasn’t Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, or even Sonic Adventure that came out first, we’re glad that at least one of the THIRTY Sonic the Hedgehog titles will make its way to every single one of our favorite platforms – we can play anywhere! While the fact that this game is being re-configured for our modern world of mobile would be good enough news as it is, there’s also news that the “Japanese soundtrack” will be included in the release. Whether this just means it’ll come with downloads for PC and consoles OR if it means it’ll come in a package download for iOS, Windows Phone, and Android too is still a mystery – app bonuses? We

iPod Touch White Next Generation Device Parts Photos Appear

Image
It would seem that as Apple is certainly one of the most ravenously sought-after brands in the world, their under-wraps projects have one of the hardest times staying completely hidden. Case in point: the newest version of the iPod Touch. What we’re being told here is that the folks at iFixDirect have gotten their hands on a couple of pieces of the 5th generation of iPod Touch, this one showing a color change to reflect what we’ve seen in the most recent generation of iPhones (that being WHITE, of course,) and otherwise not not much else on the surface. It would be a rare occasion indeed if Apple did end up changing one of their most successful versions of the digital music and apps player, especially since all rumors leading up to this point tell a story of only hardware changes, nothing much doing on the inside. The white coloration would of course follow as the newest generations iPhone and iPad have both offered a white choice aside their classic black, and it does appear that the

Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE Made Official Today

Image
After weeks of hypothesizing, days of great guessing, and minutes of clicking alerts from Samsung, we’ve got it officially: IFA 2011 will be the home of Samsung’s new Galaxy S II LTE as well as their brand new Galaxy Tab 8.9, also with LTE. While we’d guessed that the Galaxy S II might make an appearance at the event, we’d not yet officially heard that the Galaxy Tab 8.9 would be present – now we’re sure and wow! LTE as well! Confirmed as well is this new Galaxy S II’s ability to work with LTE / WCDMA / GSM multi-mode. This means that even MORE people around the world can roll out with one of the quickest selling Android devices of all time. The Galaxy S II LTE is set to launch formally on September 2nd, 2011 at IFA 2011 in Berlin. Note also that we’ll be there in Germany to give you the full scoop on all devices released by Samsung and beyond! Next we find that not only is this Galaxy S II enhanced in its ability to connect, it’s enhanced in its display as well: a 4.5-inch Super AMOLE

GameStop tries to Make it Right with “Coupon-Gate” Customers

Image
Not even a week has passed since some heavy controversy surrounding GameStop and “Coupon-Gate” and they’re already aiming to patch things up with customers with a coupon and a gift card – nice of them, yes? It was less than a week ago that Gamestop discovered one of the PC games they’d been carrying, “Deus Ex: Human Revolution”, had inside its box a coupon for OnLive, one of GameStop’s newest competitors. What ensued was a series of actions that, in the end, (or at least we hope this is the end,) had GameStop apologizing to their customers and offering them both a $50 gift card and a Buy Two, Get One Free used game purchase coupon. Will this be enough? What happened was that when GameStop discovered the OnLive coupon in the boxes for the PC game in question, they ordered employees to open all boxes and remove the coupon before they were sold. OnLive is a service that’ll soon be competing with GameStop’s own similar streaming gaming project. This resulted in a sort of gamer uproar among

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 for IFA 2011 in a Bit More Detail

Image
The team at Samsung blew the top off of the Android world back in November of 2010 when the released the first real Android tablet effort across the world – what the tech world’s next big convention IFA 2011 may hold is the next generation of this very model with an added 0.7-inches and a Super AMOLED display. As we know fromleaked details contained in Samsung’s own official “Unpacked” app for IFA in Berlin, they certainly will be releasing what’s called the Galaxy Tab 7.7. Aside a “Galaxy Note” device that’ll likely have something to do with a stylus for mobile devices and the “Wave 3,” a Bada device with a 4-inch Super AMOLED display,, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 would be the second reported upgrade to a device already out on the market with slightly lesser specifications. What we can expect from the Galaxy Tab 7.7 was revealed earlier this month on August 11th where we got our hands on a leaked roadmap of Samsung devices which also let us in on possible specs for the first Ice Cream Sandwich

Facebook Shuts Down Deals Program after 4 Months

Image
It was a lovely 3rd of November afternoon when we first heard of Facebook’s intent to create a Deals Programamongst a handful of other new features for the social networking ecosystem, and now not quite four months after its inception, the program has been cut entirely. While the Facebook Deals program seemed at first to very much be an obvious Groupon Rival, even an early June 2011 announcement of a possible UK sect of the program did not prove enough to keep the system alive, and today Facebook has announced the cutting of the Deals. Back the same day the Facebook Deals program was launched, we analyzed the situation, hypothesizing that this new platform could have the potential to drive more location based service usage, it appears that Chicago-based Groupon has proved too much for the big blue social networking site. Over in Palo Alto, California, Facebook has released a statement which made clear their intentions for the moment: “After testing Deals for four months, we’ve decided

Apple Chief Designer Jonathan Ive Exhibit now in German Art Museum

Image
All the way over in Hamburg, Germany, there’s a design exhibit being shown in their Museum of Arts and Crafts called “Stylectrical: On Electro-Design That Makes History” featuring 300 exhibits, over half of which are Apple products. Long time employee Jonathan Ive, currently Apple’s Chief Designer, is the most prominently featured designer in this collection, right alongside former Braun designer lead Dieter Rams, an influence of design theories of both Ive and Steve Jobs. This Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe exhibit will examine “the complex development processes of industrial electrical design in a cultural studies context”, and isn’t the first time Apple products have been featured in a museum, though it is the first time that all of the projects worked on and/or supervised by Ive have been showcased under one roof. For those of you without a heavy knowledge of Ive, he’s been the Senior Vice President of Industrial Design at Apple, having worked at the company since 1996 and holding

How will Steve Jobs’ resignation affect the Apple TV?

Image
Much of the talk surrounding Steve Jobs’ decision to resign as CEO of Apple and assume the role of chairman of the company’s board of directors has centered on the iPhone maker’s financial performance and future in the mobile market. To some extent, that’s understandable. Shareholders care more about Apple’s financial performance than anything else. And the only way for the company to maintain its strong financial picture is to continue to deliver outstanding mobile products, like the iPhone and iPad, that people actually want to buy. But as I’ve noted on SlashGear before, I care most about being entertained in the living room. Whether it’s watching movies, playing video games, or just relaxing and surfing the Web with my home-theater PC, the living room is the central hub for much of my life. And a key component in that hub is the Apple TV. Realizing that, I’m most concerned about how the Apple TV will be affected now that Tim Cook has taken over as CEO of Apple and Steve Jobs has mov

Karisma Kapoor's voice-over in Bodyguard

Image
While the makers of  Bodyguard  kept denying about Karisma Kapoor's presence in the film, the cat is now out of the bag. Karisma may not be seen in the film but has given her voice-over for a particular sequence in  Bodyguard . The sequence has Kareena's character pulling off a prank-call on Salman by changing her voice. The different voice is none other than Karisma Kapoor's voice. Karisma has been really close to Salman and his family and when the actor asked her to do a voice-over for his film, Lolo simply couldn't refuse. Meanwhile on the acting front, Karisma would be soon seen in her comeback film namely Vikram Bhatt's  Dangerous Ishq .

Is Kareena really a profit partner in Heroine?

Image
While one waits to see what really unfolds on screen once Heroine arrives on the big screen, at least off screen the film is pretty much turning out to be a saga in it's own. So much so that Madhur Bhandarkar could well think of including that as a chapter within his film itself. Even though Kareena Kapoor camp is insisting that the numero uno actress has reached a 'middle path' by working out a deal that amounts to Rs. 8 crores as her overall remuneration, sources deny any such progress. "It is surprising to read a different theory making rounds every week. First it was said that she had demanded for Rs.10 crores to play the title role of Heroine. Then a few days later it came down to Rs.8 crores. Now it is being said that it would be a mix of fees as well as profit sharing, all of which will finally amount to Rs.8 crores, hence making it a win-win situation for her as well as the makers (Bhandarkar and UTV Motion Pictures). The fact though is that none of this is t

Vinay Pathak to play lead in film inspired by R.D. Burman's life

Image
The recent spate of films that are being made seem to be remakes or films that are based (read 'inspired') on real life stories. Well, the same is the case with Eros International and Soumik Sen's next which is said to be based on the life of legendary music composer R.D.Burman. The makers of the film have already registered the title R.D. with the Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers. Furthermore, the makers have roped in none other than Vinay Pathak to essay the lead role and his character's name in the film will be Rahul Dev Dutta. The rights of the songs of R.D.Burman, are currently owned by Saregama and Universal Music, but will be purchased by Eros for the film, while Gourov Dasgupta, who worked with Eros in Chalo Dilli, will be roped in to compose the music. Buzz also is that Chitrangda Singh has been approached to play leading lady of the film. As for the story line of the film, it will graph the ups and downs of the music composer'

Bodyguard breaks pre-release buzz records

Image
According to Ormax Media, Salman Khan's Bodyguard has created new pre-release Buzz and Reach records at a Week (-2) stage, i.e., two weeks before the film's release, on their film awareness tracking tool Cinematix. The film has a Buzz of 71% and a Reach of 99% at this stage. Since its inception in May 2010, no other film has touched these scores at a Week (-2) stage on Cinematix. Buzz is defined as the % of audiences aware of the film at an unaided level, while Reach is defined as the % of audiences aware of the film at an unaided or aided level. At this same stage Salman's last two films - Dabangg & Ready - had comparatively lower Buzz (50% & 44%), and Reach (88% & 74%) levels. The box office success of these two films however has helped build a strong equity for Salman Khan and his films. Cinematix is a weekly tracking tool that measures the awareness and interest to watch for upcoming releases, during their marketing phase.

Real Hero's an initiative honouring the selflessness of individuals to fight against malpractices within society just got a new fan in Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Shyam Benegal ropes in Bipasha Basu for his next

Image
It all started with Milan Luthria making his next on yesteryear actress Silk Smitha and Madhur Bhandarkar working on his most talked about film Heroine. Well, now we have another prominent director Shyam Benegal following suit. Benegal's film in question is said to be based on Bollywood and how a starlet is exploited in the industry. For the lead role, Benegal wanted a glamorous face who would also be a good performer and hence he opted for Bipasha Basu. Further we hear that Shyam has already met up with Bipasha to discuss the role and she immediately signed the film. While for the rest of the cast, Benegal is on the lookout for two more lead actors and is in talks with a producer to collaborate on the film, which is scheduled to hit the floors in October.

Karisma Kapoor to play supermodel in Dangerous Ishq

Image
National Award winning actress Karisma Kapoor, who will be facing the camera after five years, will be essaying the role of a glamorous supermodel in Vikram Bhatt's Dangerous Ishq. The film will be shot in 3D. Karisma who charmed the hearts of her audience with films like Dil To Pagal Hai, Raja Hindustani, Hero No.1 and Biwi No. 1 is all charged up for her second innings in Bollywood. Director Vikram Bhatt revealed Karisma's role on Twitter, "As promised Karisma's character in 'Dangerous Ishq' - a super model who gives up her career to marry the man she loves, before the marriage,...her fiance is kidnapped by an enemy who has been chasing her through many lifetimes...to find out who she must find out about her lives." In fact, in real life too, Karisma said goodbye to her filmy career to tie the knot with Delhi-based businessman Sanjay Kapur in 2003. She is now a mother of two cute kids, Samaira born in 2005, and son Kiaan Raj Kapoor born in 2010. Kari
