Nokia may soon be unveiling a new partnership with Monster Cable to introduce co-branded audio gear. According to leaked marketing graphics obtained by PocketNow, the duo appear to be readying at least one product called the Nokia Purity HD Stereo Headset by Monster. This move could be similar to HTC’s deal with Monster’s Beats Audio line and may help boost appeal for Nokia’s first Windows Phones. The leaked ads are snazzy in bright magenta with Nokia’s blue graphics getting vandalized by Monster graffiti. Instead of the tame Nokia and its “fabulous” headset, thanks to a partnership with Monster, you’re getting a “fierce” new headset. They definitely convey the vibe that Monster is making good old Nokia more “cool.” It’s not clear whether the partnership will pan out to be an exclusive deal like HTC’s Beats deal, but more details will likely be unveiled at the upcoming Nokia World event later this month, where the company is expected to launch its much rumored Windows Phone 7.5 Man

Research firm comScore has just released its latest figures that unsurprisingly show continued growth for both Google and Apple in the US smartphone market. Google’s Android is seeing a steady upward climb now reaching 43.7 percent market share, while Apple’s iPhone seems to be slowing a bit with smaller incremental changes. It’s recent launch of the iPhone 4S, however, may give it a boost. Apple is now at 27.3 percent, which is only about a 0.3 point change from the month before, while the month prior to that it had a 0.4 point change. Still, Apple is now further ahead of RIM by 7.6 points, a gap that’s been steadily widening as the BlackBerry maker continues to lose market share, mostly attributed to its customers converting to Android devices. RIM has dropped to 19.7 percent market share. Microsoft and Symbian follow behind RIM, both seeing their market shares slide. Last week, there was a lot of speculation over whether the southern superstar Rajinikanth would make a special appearance in Shah Rukh Khan's film Ra.One. Well, the wait is over and all hearsay has since been put to rest as the mega star arrived in Mumbai to shoot for the film, yesterday. Rajinikanth shot for the film at Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods studio on Sunday (Oct 2), accompanied by his daughter Soundarya. Reliance Entertainment will co-produce Dangerous Ishq along with BVG Films and DAR Motion Pictures who have earlier given us hits like Haunted 3D. Dangerous Ishq, which is directed by Vikram Bhatt will be his second stereoscopic 3D film post the success of his film Haunted 3D. It stars Karisma Kapoor, Jimmy Sheirgill, Rajniesh Duggal, Divya Dutta and Ruslaan Mumtaz. The film marks Karisma's return to the big screen after five years. The 3D flick will see the actress in a glamorous avatar opposite Rajniesh Duggal and will release around May/June next year. The music for the film is being composed by Himesh Reshammiya.

India's first zombie comedy film, Shaadi Of The Dead produced by Ekta Kapoor, starring Abhay Deol and Genelia D'Souza, has undergone a change of name and has been retitled as Rock The Shaadi. The reason behind this change was that producer Ekta Kapoor didn't find the name creative enough and hence threw out the challenge to the cast and creative team of the film. It was after much deliberation that Abhay's suggestion of Rock The Shaadi was locked as being the best of all the names. The official spokesperson for the film says, "Shaadi Of The Dead was a working title. And the team wanted to make sure that they had the right title before the film goes on floors. So, Ekta threw open the challenge asking if anyone could come up with a new title. Abhay was the closest to the film's concept. So he, in essence, knows the film and hence, could come up with the title." Rock The Shaadi is a zombie comedy directed by Navdeep Singh which goes on floors soon.

Apple finally unleashed its next-gen iPhone yesterday, which turned out to be a moderate upgrade in the form of an iPhone 4S instead of an iPhone 5. Nonetheless, plenty of loyal Apple fans, early adopters, and current iPhone 4 users may still want to upgrade, but they may find themselves ineligible for the new subsidized pricing starting at $199. AT&T customer service reps are reportedly telling customers that Apple is to blame for this. Apple had posted links on its page yesterday to allow customers from both AT&T and Verizon to see if they’re eligible for upgrades to the iPhone 4S. Many current iPhone 4 owners may find that they will instead have to pay full retail price for the iPhone 4S, which starts at $449 for the 16GB model, $549 for the 32GB model, and $649 for the 64GB model. Today we’ve learned a sad fact, as reported by Apple themselves, that Steve Jobs has passed away. In a statement published by Apple’s Board of Directors it was announced that Jobs passing has of course brought sadness as well as reverence to the hearts of all that knew him. The world has lost a great mind and a great man, and we all mourn his passing with the utmost respect and honor. The news came from Cupertino California today that “Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives.” Of course we need no reminder of this, having sat on the edge of our seats at his every word over the past decade and more. “The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.” The announcement of Jobs’ passing went on to note: His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family.
