Gayle shadow still looms large over series

Image
Chris Gayle's shadow hung over the press conference. It was Suresh Raina who nailed Gayle's impact in a delightful moment of humour-infused candour. The question was a direct one: Are you relieved or are you disappointed that Gayle isn't playing? "To be honest I am a bit relieved at the moment," Raina said, as the press room filled with laughter. The mood, though, turned sombre when the Gayle issue was put forward to the West Indies captain and the coach. Uncomfortable silence was punctuated by a note of defiance. It's an issue that has dogged West Indies for a while now and seems to be heading into a cul-de-sac. And so necks craned forward when the coach Ottis Gibson, who is alleged to have had problems with Gayle, was asked for his opinion. Gibson paused before he tried to be diplomatic. "There is a lot being said. I have left the board to deal with it and have tried to focus on cricket. I have been doing that since the Gayle issue started." The

New Sony Hack Claims Over a Million User Passwords

Image
Already infamous for defacing PBS's website earlier this week, cracking outfit LulzSec today claimed a familiar scalp—whatever remains of it, anyway. This time, it's Sony Pictures Entertainment, the movie-making division. From a statement attributed to the group : Our goal here is not to come across as master hackers, hence what we're about to reveal: SonyPictures.com was owned by a very simple SQL injection, one of the most primitive and common vulnerabilities, as we should all know by now. From a single injection, we accessed EVERYTHING. Why do you put such faith in a company that allows itself to become open to these simple attacks? What's worse is that every bit of data we took wasn't encrypted. Sony stored over 1,000,000 passwords of its customers in plaintext, which means it's just a matter of taking it. This is disgraceful and insecure: they were asking for it. The haul of data, already posted to The Pirate Bay, also includes 3.5 million Sony Music cou

Jon Stewart is Outraged at How Donald Trump Eats Pizza

Image
I can't believe I missed this two days ago, because it is hilarious. On Wednesday night's episode of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart recapped the recent meeting in New York City between Donald Trump and Sarah Palin. Apparently, Trump took Palin to a chain pizza restaurant in Times Square, which immediately got Stewart's hackles rising. In hilarious fashion he lists all of the authentic New York pizza joints that Trump could have taken Palin to eat at. Then Stewart lays into Trump for the way he eats his pizza, ranting about how he eats it with a fork (the horror!). Stewart goes on and on, in a pretty amusing fake Italian accent, to talk about how Trump has basically spit on the pizza industry and New York City in general with his fork-using habits. The whole rant ends with Stewart showing the proper way to eat a New York City pizza and sharing the dreams of his ancestors (how they wanted their grandson to have enough money to own DVDs of Robert DeNiro movies so he coul
