Khloe and Lamar Season Finale: Baby Blues

Image
The season finale of Khloe and Lamar was all about the baby drama. Rob tells Khloe that his recent San Diego hook up, Rosa, might be pregnant with his child and wants a DNA test. Khloe pounds on Rob for being careless and stupid. Khloe knows Malika has feelings for Rob and tells her Rob’s news. Malika, still smarting from her recent ups and downs with Rob, (Rosa being one of the downs), is very disappointed in him. Rob walks in on their conversation and Malika cries. Malika tries to ask him what his plans will be but as usual, can’t get a straight answer out of him. Privately, Khloe is concerned about not being able to conceive, even though she and Lamar have been trying for awhile. Khloe and Rob need to let mom Kris know, so they bring her to a Laker game where she can’t make a scene to give her the news. Before they tell her, Kris starts getting on Khloe’s nerves about getting pregnant. When Kris goes as far as suggesting they try different positions, Khloe has had enough. Rob

True Blood Star is a Double Cover Star

Image
Having already scored the cover of this months GQ, True Blood star Alexander SkarsgÄrd now also graces the cover of Interview magazine as promotion for season 4 of his hit HBO show gears up. The marketing team at HBO for True Blood have perfected over the past few years, the ability to drip feed just enough marketing material in the weeks leading up to the shows premiere to make the fans of this show salivate with anticipation. This marketing material has made me almost forget the disappointment that I felt towards the season 3 finale and I am more than excited for the start of this fourth season. To have not just the promo videos and posters from HBO but also these magazine features with Alexander SkarsgÄrd further amps up this excitement. In both publications he discusses aspects of the show, including what it is like to film the graphic love scenes that have become a staple of True Blood. Regarding these scenes with co-star Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse), SkarsgÄrd tells GQ that

Mob Wives: Moving On and Starting Over

Image
Sunday’s episode of Mob Wives reminded me of The Killing. No, no, it didn’t morph into a densely layered murder mystery set in the damp northwest. It didn’t bring together a bunch of top notch performances and throw them all into a moody atmosphere. It didn’t even feature Holder’s rather rockin’ yellow suit. No, Mob Wives closed one chapter and opened up the next part of the way through the episode, not unlike the AMC drama’s loose day-an-episode formula. Yes, after another fifteen minutes of intense fight footage that focused mostly on screaming for apologies and ending in tears (thank you VH1 for not tying things up with a minute of the show opening and then moving on), Mob Wives put the dining room brawl to bed and awoke the core of the show that finds these four women struggling to make it in the face of adversity. As tough as they are, as fiery as they can be, each woman is still a little lost right now and I'm strangely invested in their stories. Renee tried online dating t

Basketball Wives: Who Hates Who and Where the Heck are We Going

Image
“Welcome to Miami, city of drama.” I didn’t watch Basketball Wives from day one, but boy have I been tuned into the drama through various reruns and marathons that VH1 has ran since the show’s inception in April 2010. It’s one of those shows where you flip over to watch a few minutes and before you know it, you’ve watched a good 5-6 episodes. Thankfully for my poor time management skills, the show’s third season premiere on Monday night was only one episode, but it was a quick and often hilarious affair that caught us up to speed on events that happened since the two-part second season reunion and set things up for a pretty spicy summer down in Miami. I thought we’d look at what was introduced tonight, where the battlelines are, and just how much shade will be thrown. Meeka: We have another new wife this season and she’s already stirring things up with “the inner circle”. Meeka Claxton, wife of retired NBA point guard Speedy Claxton, is a very pretty realtor who is trying to exp

Real Housewives of New Jersey: To Forgive or Not Forgive...

Image
The Real Housewives of New Jersey continued to document the turmoil between the Giudices and Gorgas tonight, but luckily there weren't any confrontations that could further drive a deeper wedge amongst the warring factions. That doesn't mean there wasn't any drama to pick and analyze over, however. The Approval After reading an interview Kathy Wakile had with Zap2It's Jethro Nededog, I couldn't help but renew my respect for this woman despite the fact that she hasn't really done anything to make me want to throw my remote to the TV screen. She hasn't been as vocal as Melissa Gorga has when it comes to the beef with Teresa Giudice, which is working well in her favor. On the other hand, Kathy's innocent demeanor hasn't won over Caroline Manzo, who did not appreciate that Kathy brought the Gorga/Giudice battle to the Brownstone aka her "home." Kathy reaching out to Caroline was, in some way, ill-advised, but only in the sense that she sh

Another Cougar Town Name Change -- This Time, You Could Choose the Title!

Image
Despite no longer being about older women who seduce younger men, one of ABC's hottest comedies is still named Cougar Town. The Courtney Cox-starring series is returning for a third season this fall, though, and creator Bill Lawrence (Scrubs) thinks it might be time for a change. Sound familiar? That's because Lawrence thought about doing the same thing last year, but eventually didn't go through with it, despite the fact that then-network head Stephen McPherson was all for it. Lawrence's potential titles Sunshine State and Grown Ups were both nixed due to their similarity to other titles (one's another ABC sitcom, the other was a then-recent Adam Sandler film). Studies showed that Cougar Town's title was actually hurting viewership, but the second season decided to stick with Cougar Town. Not so for the third season, tweeted actress Busy Philipps. "Ok. Guys. New title suggestions for Cougar Town? I think [Bill Lawrence] is really seriously gonna do it

Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition Premiere Sneak Peeks (Airs Tonight)

Image
Tonight, ABC is premiering a spin-off of its popular Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reality show. Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition is a one hour, non-competitive weight loss show that will follow eight "super obese" people for 365 days as they attempt to lose half their body weight. Tonight marks the premiere episode of Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition and focuses on a woman named Rachel. Trainer Chris Powell, the host of the show, tries to help over-achiever Rachel, who's managed to accomplish nearly everything she puts her mind to, except for losing weight. Rachel is 21 years old and weighs almost 400 pounds. She's also, ironically, a phys-ed teacher at a local school. Chris takes Rachel to her new "boot camp" at California Health & Longevity Institute, where she'll go through medical testing, workouts and nutrition classes. Then she returns home to Georgia, where Chris lays out the plan for the remainder of the year. Apparentl

Doctor Who's American Fans Left Behind As UK Prepares for "A Good Man Goes to War"

Image
Sometimes BBC America just drops the ball. They were doing well at first; premiering "The Impossible Astronaut" at the same time in the US and the UK was a wonderful move, bringing Americans right up into the action that until then only UK viewers had gotten to see first. While some British fans might argue that Americans don't deserve such early access to a British culture staple (believe me, I've seen the arguments), American fans certainly were happier with the show, especially since they didn't have to wait weeks until they saw the episodes air on BBC America. And then came Memorial Day. "The Almost People" was postponed because of this holiday, pushing the American syndication of the series back a week and leaving fans floundering for air as the UK moved on to the midseason finale without them. Was a hiatus really necessary? I don't think so. BBC America did so to avoid a projected drop in viewers with Memorial Day weekend -- but just how ma

Criminal Minds Cast News Update

Image
Last season there was uproar amongst fans of the hit CBS crime show Criminal Minds when it was announced that both A.J. Cook (Jennifer 'J.J.' Jareau) and Paget Brewster (Emily Prentis) would be leaving the show, not by their choice but as a direct move from executive producers who were shaking the cast up. Now to the big Criminal Minds news of the weekend which totally back tracks on the big cast shake up, as it has been officially announced that Paget Brewster will be returning next season as Emily Prentiss alongside her co-star A.J. Cook, whose return was announced a few weeks ago. This unfortunately (or fortunately as some fans will see it) leaves no room for Rachel Nichols in the show, who many fans didn't warm to as Agent Ashley Seaver who seemed to be a J.J. clone rather than a completely new character. There had been rumblings for some time that Brewster would be returning, particularly after her last episode which was left very open ended. It will be interesting t
