Parks and Recreation 4.01 "I'm Leslie Knope" Review

Image
The smell of fresh fall air can only mean one thing. Parks and Recreation is back for another fun-filled year of wild office antics and crazy one liners. This year starts off right where last season ended with Leslie Knope being approached to run for office. Will this new opportunity for power, will Leslie (Amy Poehler) give up her relationship with Ben (Adam Scott) so she can fulfill her dream? And will Tom (Aziz Ansari) still be apart of the show even though he no longer works for Leslie? Continue on readers to find out. The first thing that anyone would have noticed about this episode is that Tom is in very little of it. Just when you think you are beginning to get a feel for where these characters are headed, the writers smack us with exposition that proves otherwise. The Circle Bounded The power amongst the Circle ran amok last night with only Faye being the sole person not freaked out by the intensity of their recently heightened abilities. Nick kind of didn't care either, but it's quickly becoming apparent that Nick pretty much doesn't care about anything except getting high and bedding his female Circle members. The only way for the Circle to bridle their powers, according to Diana, was for the group to bound their circle. However, according to Faye, taking that action would diminish each person's individual power by linking the six to make the Circle stronger in their capabilities.

Enlightened Spoilers: What Happens in the First Four Episodes?

Image
In the debut episode of HBO's Enlightened, we meet Amy Jellicoe, a corporate executive who seems to have no problem running the show. She's tough, she's experienced, and she knows exactly what she's doing when it comes to business. However, Jellicoe soon experiences a breakdown at the office and instead of hopping right back on the gilded horse she was riding, opts to get in touch with her spiritual side. As a result, it looks like Amy's life is about to start changing, likely for the better.
