The Most Important Concept of Affiliate Marketing

Guest Post By Dante Affiliate marketing is an excellent way to make money online. But many affiliate marketers do not understand the first thing about affiliate marketing. So what is the most important concept to get down? Is it building backlinks or maybe it is targeting the right keywords. Although those are important parts they are not what I am talking about. The most important skill to get down in affiliate marketing is preselling. If you do not know how to presell your visitors at your site properly you will never make as much money as you could. In order to presell your visitors you simply need to overdeliver to them. What most affiliates do is get lazy and throw up affiliate sites in 10 minutes only to come up short every time. We all want to make money fast and easily especially when we are just starting out. It is very common to get all anxious and want to dominate the internet with a multi-million dollar empire. But if your visitors are not at the top of your priorities then

Jeff Gaspin Underestimated Emotional Toll On Conan; Internet Speed

Image
Interviewed by Broadcasting & Cable’s Ben Grossman at a session at the NATPE (syndication) conference in Las Vegas, NBC entertainment chairman Jeff Gaspin was asked if he thought NBC would be competing with Conan this fall. “My guess would be yes,” Gaspin replied, ” but I just don’t know.” Regarding the Olympics (and people will likely have a field day mocking some of these comments, but I’ll spare you the snark): “We need a cleansing moment. The two weeks the Olympics are on are going to be a cleansing moment for NBC.” At the end of the session Grossman asked Gaspin what he’d learned from the last couple of weeks in terms of Leno’s exit from primetime and the late night changes. I probably, you know, I probably underestimated the emotion of everything that went on. I went to Conan, to Jay, to Jimmy with a very logical, rational plan. I explained it to the press. I wasn’t trying to hide anything. And I think the underestimated the emotional impact it had on Conan, in partic

Senate rejects Obama plan to create commission on federal deficit

the Senate on Tuesday rejected a plan to create a bipartisan commission to tackle the nation's budget problems this year, leaving it up to President Obama to create such a panel by executive order. The commission would have had broad powers to recommend changes to the tax code and cut spending on entitlement programs such as Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare. Its recommendations, due after the November elections, would have been guaranteed an up-or-down vote in both chambers of Congress before the year is out. But the measure won just 53 votes in the Senate, not enough to overcome a threatened filibuster . In rejecting the idea, Republicans opposed to tax increases joined Democrats fearful of being forced to cut social programs. The vote came as the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released its latest deficit projections, forecasting that continued spending to combat last year's recession and a muted recovery would drive this year's deficit to $1.

Senate says 'no' to federal debt commission Obama endorsed

The Senate on Tuesday rejected a plan to create a powerful commission that would recommend ways to slash future federal budget deficits, but the close vote underscored that tackling the problem is an increasingly urgent priority. The Senate voted 53-46 to approve the commission plan, but under Senate rules, 60 votes were needed for passage. "We are on an utterly unsustainable course, "said Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad, D-N.D. "Trying what we've been doing is a proven failure." The majority — which included a rare bipartisan coalition of 36 Democrats, 16 Republicans and an independent — favoring the plan championed by Conrad and Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., sent a signal that lawmakers from both parties want to curb deficits even if that requires some unpopular steps, such as cutting spending on popular programs or raising taxes. President Barack Obama, who supported the commission, is considering creating a deficit-cutting panel by executiv

Actress Ashley Judd to release memoir at age 41

Image
Actress Ashley Judd is writing her first book, detailing how painful childhood experiences led her to advocacy work for abandoned women and children in poor countries, the memoir's publisher said on Tuesday. Judd, 41, the star of 1999 thriller "Double Jeopardy", will draw upon 500 pages of journal entries she wrote about healing losses from a fractured childhood spent in Kentucky and Tennessee with her country music star mother, Naomi Judd. Judd, who has recently concentrated more on university studies and humanitarian causes than acting, said her early experiences inspired her work abroad as global ambassador for prevention program Youth AIDS. "By sharing my own story along with those of the beautiful and resilient people I've met in the most desperate places, I want to show how the change we seek in the world must start within us," Judd said in a statement released by publisher Ballantine Books, a division of Random House Inc. The as yet untitled

Sonal Mehta to get 55 lakhs as out of court settlement for Rann

Image
In spite of Ram Gopal Varma's loud protestations about the writer's claim being nothing more than an attempt to make mileage just days before his film's release, to avoid an impending stay order on the release of his Rann this Friday, Ram Gopal Varma has apparently been persuaded to make an out-of-court settlement with the writer Sonal Mehta. Though nobody is mentioning the sum, Mehta has asked for and apparently is likely to get a sum close to Rs. 55 lakhs as out-of-court settlement. While the film's producers have in principle agreed to pay up the compensation to avoid the film's impending released being delayed, director Ram Gopal Varma in a sudden outburst of indignation, is reluctant to cough up the substantial amount of money. According to him, this settlement would amount to succumbing to last-minute pressure tactics. The next court hearing is on Wednesday morning. But for all practical purposes Sonal who apparently produced SMS messages and

Arshad Warsi plans to produce films regularly

Image
Arshad Warsi is enjoying playing the role of a producer. The talented actor has already completed his first film, HUM TUM AUR GHOST, which is slated for a March release. The film was initially titled KAUN BOLA. "Yes, but HUM TUM AUR GHOST sounds cute. It evokes interest in the film," Arshad smiles. The film was completed quite some time back, but the release date was pushed forward intermittently. "That's because I wanted ISHQIYA to come before HUM TUM AUR GHOST. But ISHQIYA got pushed ahead because Vishal Bhardwaj wanted to bring KAMINEY before ISHQIYA. And KAMINEY got delayed due to the producers versus multiplexes strike. That explains the delay in the release of HUM TUM AUR GHOST," Arshad states. Arshad plans to continue producing films. "I enjoyed the process of making this film. In fact, I plan to produce films regularly. Whether I star in them or not, is besides the point," Arshad states confidently.

Hollywood biggies in 'Teen Patti'?

Image
After winning accolades in PAA, Amitabh Bachchan will now be seen in two diverse films [RANN, TEEN PATTI], enacting equally diverse roles. While Bachchan enacts the role of a media moghul whose word is considered gospel truth in RANN , he enacts an equally challenging role in TEEN PATTI . It's a known fact that Sir Ben Kingsley also plays a crucial part in TEEN PATTI, but there are murmurs that Hollywood heavyweights such as Pierce Brosnan and Richard Gere also appear in cameos. "That's completely true. There's no reason why we would keep them under wraps if they were part of TEEN PATTI. But the fact is, they aren't," TEEN PATTI producer Ambika Hinduja tells me. Another news doing the rounds is that the film has gone over-budget, from Rs. 12 cr. to Rs. 20 cr. "Not true again. I'd like to clarify that the budget of the film was never Rs. 12 crores. Also, the film was completed within schedule and there was no question of the budget hitting the roof,&q

Veer runs into trouble as HC issues notice to Salman, producer and director

Image
Today when there are well above 250 films releasing every year in Bollywood, finding a unique concept can be a task, and every now and then, there are claims of copyright infringement being made. The latest film blamed for copyright infringement is Veer, and the makers of the film are accused of lifting some concepts from a certain book without any approval from its author. The Salman Khan starrer that released recently has been dragged to court for copyright violation by author Pavan Choudary. The plaintiff claims that the idea and concept that India should not be a 'Sone Ki Chidiya' but 'Baaj' (hawk) has almost been identically copied and adapted from his book 'Trilogy of Wisdom' and that the makers of Veer are using the same for their commercial gains. Justice V. K. Shali of Delhi High Court has since asked actor Salman Khan, the film's producers and also director Anil Sharma to file their response on the allegation levelled by author Pavan Choudary, who

Aamir, Rahman to receive Padma Bhushan; Padma Shree for Rekha, Saif

Image
It's the height of award season with Bollywood actors being showered with recognition from all the fronts, the latest being the actors Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan. Following the National Awards that were recently announced, Bollywood Hungama has now learnt that Bollywood's 'Mr. Perfectionist' Aamir Khan has been awarded the Padma Bhushan. The actor will be awarded with the same on the 60th Republic Day celebration for his outstanding contribution to Hindi cinema. Speaking about the win Aamir says, "I am so happy to receive this unique honour. The first thing that comes to my mind is my mother's smiling face. Indeed this has been a good day for me. First my film Peepli Live gets a superb response here at the Sundance Film Festival, and then I receive this wonderful news of receiving the Padma Bhushan. I only wish I was back home right now. I would like to thank God for these happy moments, and all my fans and well wishers for their love, supp

SRK gets Moon crater named after him

Image
For those who thought that the fans of Tollywood (Tamil film industry) were one crazy lot, we are sure that this piece of news will just not be a 'Moonwalk' (quite literally) for them. Its general knowledge that Shah Rukh Khan is called the 'King' for reasons enough that will fill all the pages of an Encyclopedia book. And the fan following that he has is nothing short of hysteria. Well, if that wasn't enough at all, there is a piece of news that is bound to make you sit up and take notice. The news is that one of SRK's biggest fans had purchased (you read it right) a piece of land in SRK's name on Moon. And the good news is that, the International Lunar Geographic Society (ILGS) has now approved of the same. The crater in question is located on the moon's Sea of Tranquility and is the largest of the four Arago craters, positioned directly south of the main crater. It is said that the crater was named after SRK on his 44th birthday in November last year

Qnext: Free Cross-Network & Cross-Platform Messenger

Image
For many of us instant messengers have become an important part of our daily lives, and in some cases IM’ing has begun to replace email communication. That’s why I’m always on the lookout for the best messenger application, and for awhile I gave that crown to Digsby… that is until they started to use what I consider to be shady practices to infest computers with adware. A friend at work introduced me to a new messenger application called Qnext. I was instantly impressed that it was a cross-platform messenger (runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux), and works with all of the major networks including MSN, Yahoo!, AIM, ICQ, Jabber, and Google Talk. The thing is that Qnext goes way beyond just being a messenger. It does all of the voice chat, video conferencing, photo sharing, and file transfers that you want from an app like this, but it is also able to grant remote access to your PC for one of your friends or even stream music from another computer that’s running Qnext. Sound cool? It is. Here
