It's Thursday for Ekta Kapoor

Image
Film-makers and actors are a superstitious lot. A film is launched on a particular date and at a particular time, since the temple priest/astrologer/soothsayer has advised that it's the most appropriate time to have the mahurat of the film. An actor is given a token amount [signing amount] at an auspicious time on a particular day, again because it's supposed to bring good luck to the project. Similarly, deals with the distributors are signed only after consultations with people who advise you on the appropriate/inappropriate time or who know your kundali well. Ekta Kapoor, who is working on several interesting projects on a feverish note, has decided to release her films not on the customary Friday, but on Thursday. In fact, the enterprising film-maker is releasing three films within a span of one-and-a-half months and all are slated for release on a Thursday. These include TARYANCHE BAIT [Marathi film] on Thursday, 14 April, SHOR - IN THE CITY o

In chaotic scenes, the two sides pelted each other with stones, and protesters dragged attackers off their horses.
