Aamir Bereaved: Tahir Hussain Passes Away

Producer director Tahir Hussain, the father of Aamir Khan, passed away at his Mumbai residence today following a heart attack. He leaves behind his wife, Zeenat, sons, Aamir and Faisal, and daughters Farhat and Nikhat.

The brother of Nasir Hussain, Tahir was a writer, producer, director and actor. Tahir produced films like 'Caravan' (1971), 'Anamika' (1973), 'Madhosh' (1974), 'Zakhmee' (1975), 'Dulha Bikta Hai' (1982,) 'Locket'(1986),' Tum Mere Ho' (1990) and 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke' (1993). He directed just one film, 'Tum Mere Ho', which starred his son Aamir. He also acted in films like 'Jab Pyar Kisise Se Hota Hai' (1961), 'Pyar Ka Mausam' (1969) and 'Janam Janam Ka Saath' (1977). Unfortunately, Aamir is currently in the US, with his film 'Peepli Live', which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, but is expected to fly back soon.
