Shobana's dance for a cause


Ace actress and dancer Shobana will perform a Bharathanatyam dance ballet in English, 'Maya Ravan' on Sunday Feb 28, 2010 at Music Academy, Chennai at 6 p.m. The idea behind this ballet is to revive the spirit of our culture and traditions amongst the generation that seems to have lost touch with it. The show is organised in association with Open India Charitable Trust and Ignite Trust. The proceeds from the show will be used to provide education for poor children in India. Tickets for the show will be available at Landmark, Odyssey, Gangotree and Music Academy. Shri M.A. Subramanian, Mayor of Chennai, will be the guest of honour.

This show  is  a come back serial for  Iqbal Khan, one of the popular male actors of Indian Television .  He would be  facing small screen after the gap of two years. The story is about the character of  Rudra which is  played by Iqbal khan, This character is based on the character of Devdas who falls for Pihu (Aditi Gupta). The second female lead is Gauri ( Binny Sharma), the character based on Chandramukhi who enters his life at a later stage. . Aruna Irani is also part of this serial she would be  essaying the role of grandmother of Rudra( Iqbal Khan) . Sudha Chandran  is acting as grandmother of Gauri( Binny Sharma). Movies based on the story of Devdas has always been hit. It would be interesting to watch if the serial is able to generate the same interest  among the viewers.
