Pakistan Spurns 'Lahore'!

There is abundant frenzy for Indian films across Pak shores. One flick, though, is fiercely embroiled in titular muck, and has courted controversy. Pakistan has banned the release of 'Lahore', owing to its title. Besides, the Pak Censor Board has taken express objection to a sequence wherein a Paki girl is shown apologising to an Indian.

Ironically, the film propogates a peace initiative between the two nations. Certain sequences of 'Lahore' were canned at Lahore in 2009. The Indo Pak opus centred around kickboxing has been critically hailed and has already made its mark at several international cine fests.

Director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan in a newspaper quote reveals that "a leading Pakistani exhibitor was pleased with his film and was keen on showing it in his country." Speaking to the media, Vivek Khatkar, producer of 'Lahore' states, "We called our film 'Lahore' because the film's climax is set in Lahore. There is nothing negative about Pakistan in our film."
