Cable Top 25: iCarly Tops Hannah Montana; Snooki Edges Sookie


With 7.74 million viewers, the fourth season premiere of iCarly easily bettered Hannah Montana Forever’s5.75 million and everything else on cable for the week.

In its third week newcomer (and already renewed) Rizzoli & Isles on TNT dropped back behind its lead-in,The Closer, but with 6.5 million viewers it was still 3rd for the week.
(please note: the numbers for Rizzoli & Isles and The Closer and any Monday show referenced here are forMonday July 26, not August 2. We should see those numbers in a few hours though and post them later.)
The second season premiere of Jersey Shore on MTV narrowly edged out HBO’s True Blood by 16,000 viewers. True Blood’s numbers still are more impressive though since MTV is available in over 98 million homes and HBO is only available in around 32 million. Update: though Snooki topped Sookie in total viewers,Sookie won out with adults 18-49.

Movies based on the story of Devdas has always been hit. It would be interesting to watch if the serial is able to generate the same interest  among the viewers.
