TCA Miscellany: ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska‘ to Premiere in November; Discovery ID Will Launch Prison-Based Talent Shows



Not included in the deluge of press releases from Discovery, but covered at today’s TCA:
  • Sarah Palin’s Alaska will bow during November sweeps, November 14 at 9pm on TLC. In a reality crossover of sorts, Kate Gosselin will show up and go salmon fishing with the Palins.
  • In the you can’t make this stuff up department, Investigation Discovery will borrow from American Idol andDancing With the Stars with separate jailhouse singing and dancing competitions “Talent Behind Bars,” and “Dancing Behind Bars.” More details via James Hibberd.

This show  is  a come back serial for  Iqbal Khan, one of the popular male actors of Indian Television .  He would be  facing small screen after the gap of two years. The story is about the character of  Rudra which is  played by Iqbal khan, This character is based on the character of Devdas who falls for Pihu (Aditi Gupta). The second female lead is Gauri ( Binny Sharma), the character based on Chandramukhi who enters his life at a later stage. . Aruna Irani is also part of this serial she would be  essaying the role of grandmother of Rudra( Iqbal Khan) . Sudha Chandran  is acting as grandmother of Gauri( Binny Sharma). Movies based on the story of Devdas has always been hit. It would be interesting to watch if the serial is able to generate the same interest  among the viewers.
