White Collar Guest Star News and Spoilers

Season 3 of White Collar begins next week and just in time to amp up the excitement for the return of everybody's favorite con artist Neal Caffrey(Matt Bomer), it has been announced that Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dollhouse, Tru Calling) will be guest starring in at least one episode. This sees Dushku being reunited with her former co-star Matt Bomer who played her ill fated love interest on the short lived (but very enjoyable) Tru Calling.

Dushku won't appear until midway through the season where she will shake things up for Neal in the romance department. Last season we saw Neal embark on a romantic liaison with insurance investigator Sara Ellis (Hilarie Burton), who he flirted it up with for most of season 2 and finally hooked up with at the end of last year. This union looks like it will continue in to season 3, but by the time that Dushku makes her appearance they will have hit a rough patch and have broken up at this point. Dushku and Matt Bomer have some good chemistry and it is no surprise that they will exploiting this on White Collar, executive producer Jeff Eastin has told The Hollywood Reporter that her character will be someone "who’s obviously very sexy.” Her character will also be working for Matthew Keller (recurring guest star Ross McCall) who is one of Neal's enemies that he has managed to build up over his years as a con man. Eastin also revealed that Eliza Dushku's appearance in this episode might not be a one off and that they have left it open for her to return.

Last season ended with a dilemma for Neal about which direction he should go with his life, should he go the way of his instincts and talents as a con man after he is gifted a major haul of treasure or should he return to the straight and narrow with Peter (Tim DeKay)? This is coupled with the fact that Peter accuses him of being involved in the big scam and their trust is broken once again. Trust is and has been a major factor between these two and it is this relationship between the leads that is central to the show and why White Collar works so well. The conflict between Neal and Peter is because they really care about each other but that there is always an unspoken issue of trust that comes from one of them being a criminal and the other an officer of the law. If this suddenly went away then part of the dynamic of the show would be gone and after last seasons big accusation I can't see that happening any time soon.

Are you looking forward to Eliza Dushku guest starring? Any other former co-stars of Matt Bomer that you would like to see appear on the show? Let us know in the comments below.
